Potential by 2030Nairobi, 14th April 2026 – Farmer’s Choice Limited, in partnership with the State Department for Livestock Development, today convened a Stakeholder Sensitisation Forum on the National Pig Value Chain at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.  Story by Stella Ranji  The forum brought together government and private sector stakeholders to assess the state of the industry. Kenya’s per capita pork consumption remains low at 0.4 kg per person per year, half the WHO-recommended 0.8 kg, despite the sector contributing KES 19.5 billion (5% of livestock output). With demand projected to grow over 125% by 2030, driven by urbanisation, population growth, and changing diets, the sector holds significant growth potential. Speaking at the forum, Hon. Jonathan Mueke, CBS, Principal Secretary for Livestock Development, said the government is prioritising the sector as part of broader efforts to strengthen food security and agricultural productivity...

COCA-COLA LAUNCHES ‘COKE WITH MEALS’ CAMPAIGN CELEBRATING THE MAGIC OF SHARED MEALS AND MEMORABLE MOMENTS IN KENYA. By Stella Ranji  The sun dipped slowly behind the Nairobi skyline, painting the city in warm gold and amber. In a clatter of sufurias and the aroma of frying onions filled the air. It was an ordinary Friday evening—but like so many others, it was about to become something m Amina stood by the stove, stirring a pot of pilau, her mind drifting between the week she’d just conquered and the laughter she could already hear building in the living room. Her younger brother Kevin had just finished his exams. Her mother had come home early. And her friend Wanjiku—who never missed a chance for good food—was already seated, scrolling through her phone and smiling at something she refused to share. “Food’s almost ready!” Amina called out. “Good,” Kevin replied, stretching dramatically. “Because I deserve a feast after surviving those papers.” “Surviving?” their mother...

At the grand halls of the Hyatt Regency Nairobi, leaders, scientists, and visionaries gathered—not just for a ceremony, but for a turning point . It was the day Kenya chose to stand taller against invisible enemies. Dr. Amina Njoroge stood at the edge of the stage, her fingers clasped tightly around her notes. As a young epidemiologist at the Ministry of Health Kenya, she had spent years studying outbreaks—tracking patterns, predicting risks, and sometimes, witnessing loss. Today felt different. Today was about prevention, unity, and hope. Behind her, a large screen displayed bold words: “A Unified Front Against Disease.” The room quieted as the Cabinet Secretary stepped forward, announcing the official launch of new policies under the Kenya National Public Health Institute and the closeout of the transformative TDDAP2 programme, implemented with support from Palladium International. Amina remembered when zoonotic diseases—those that jump from animals to humans—felt like di...
