The grand orientation event took place at the IYF Headquarters, where an overwhelming number of young participants gathered, eager to embark on their life-changing journey. These students will receive training in a variety of fields that are critical to Kenya's development, including digital marketing, plumbing, engineering, fashion design, catering, paramedic training, and entrepreneurship. The program aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, providing hands-on experience and critical skills that are often lacking in traditional education systems.

IYF has been at the forefront of youth empowerment for over 30 years, having already impacted over a million young lives globally through its innovative programs. By focusing on both technical training and mindset education, IYF aims to equip participants with not only the skills needed to succeed but also the confidence and leadership qualities to drive positive change in their communities.

The youth hold the key to Kenya’s future, yet many face significant barriers to education, skill development, and employment opportunities. This initiative is designed to overcome those barriers, ensuring that the next generation of leaders is well-prepared to tackle the challenges of tomorrow’s job market. The IYF Free Weekend Academy is more than just a training program; it is a commitment to empowering young people and opening doors to new opportunities.

As Cohort 8 kicks off, the support of youth organizations and key stakeholders is crucial to ensuring the success of this program. The collaboration between IYF, local communities, and industry leaders is a testament to the power of collective action in shaping a brighter future for youth in Kenya.

This intake of 10,000–20,000 students marks an exciting new chapter in IYF’s mission to create a sustainable impact on youth development. As these young individuals prepare to acquire new skills and pursue their dreams, the hope is that they will become the leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs that will steer Kenya towards a prosperous future.

With the support of IYF, these youth are not only gaining the tools to succeed in their careers but also the confidence to change the world around them. The journey they are about to embark on is more than a career path – it is the start of a life-long mission to build a better Kenya, one empowered youth at a time.
