Kenya to Host 8th Pan-African Conference on Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AYSRHR)
The Reproductive Health Network Kenya (RHNK), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Kenya, is set to host the 8th Pan-African Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AYSRHR)
Themed “Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in a World of Emerging Threats and Opportunities,” the conference aims to mobilize national and continental support for adolescent and youth SRHR. Over 1,000 delegates from more than 30 countries are expected to attend, representing government, civil society, academia, the private sector, youth-led and international organizations.
In the lead-up to the main conference, RHNK will host a special Media Breakfast on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Fairview Hotel in Nairobi, to engage members of the press and key stakeholders. The event will spotlight the critical role of media in shaping public discourse, amplifying youth voices, and promoting accountability in AYSRHR policy and service delivery.
Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, will officially open the Media Breakfast and is expected to address both the press and invited guests on Kenya’s commitment to improving adolescent and youth reproductive health outcomes.
This year's conference comes at a pivotal moment for Africa’s youth, as the continent grapples with challenges such as climate change, digital transformation, migration, and evolving social norms—each intersecting with the health and rights of its growing young population.
