A New Dawn in Malava: DNA Presents Hon. Joab Manyasi Nairobi, August 1, 2025
By Stella Ranji

Under warm August skies at the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) national headquarters in Karen, Nairobi, party leaders gathered to unveil their candidate for the Malava Constituency by-election: Hon. Joab Manyasi. The unveiling ceremony, held on Friday, August 1, 2025, marked a pivotal moment in DNA’s bid to connect deeply with rural, female, and youth voters.

Amid applause and camera flashes, DNA’s Party Leader, Hon. Godfrey Kanoti, took the stage.

“We are offering not just a candidate, but a movement,” he declared, symbolically handing over the party’s emblem to Manyasi. The gesture signified DNA’s commitment to inclusive representation and servant leadership.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Joab Manyasi spoke from the heart:

“I come from the soil of Malava. I have walked the same roads, stood in the same queues, and felt the frustration of unfulfilled promises. I previously contested this seat in 2017 under Ford Kenya, and again in 2022, under another banner. But this campaign is not just about votes—it’s about voice, dignity, and real development.”

Manyasi, a civil engineer by training, youth advocate, and public servant with deep roots in the constituency, emphasized his desire to work for ordinary citizens—especially farmers, women, and youth—whose concerns have too often gone unaddressed.

He pledged a fresh chapter in Malava politics:
“My candidacy brings experience, grassroots insight, and a people‑first agenda.” He vowed to ground his campaign in civic education, dialogue, and direct engagement across the constituency.
With the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) expected to schedule the by-election later this year, DNA pledged to run what it called an “issue‑based campaign”—not relying on tribal allegiance or traditional politicking.

Hon. Kanoti added:

“Hon. Manyasi embodies the values of our party. We believe the people of Malava are ready for a new chapter of leadership that puts their aspirations at the heart of governance.”

Manyasi’s journey reflects DNA’s strategic expansion into Western Kenya, and a commitment to nurturing homegrown, accountable leadership. The event concluded with the symbolic launch of his campaign under DNA’s emblem—serving as a rallying call to Malava’s citizens to join a movement for real change.
